Mission

The University Libraries strengthen and enhance teaching, research, and services. The Libraries promote intellectual growth and creativity by developing collections, facilitating access to information resources, teaching the effective use of information resources and critical evaluation skills, and offering research assistance. 

Vision

The University Libraries are engaged in learning and discovery as essential participants in the educational community. We develop, organize, provide access to and preserve materials to meet the needs of present and future generations of students and scholars. We explore and implement innovative technologies and services to deliver information and scholarly resources conveniently to users anytime/anyplace. We also provide well-equipped and functional physical spaces where students can pursue independent learning and discovery outside the classroom. The University Libraries support scholarship and research productivity and foster their vitality.

Strategic Goals and Objectives

The following are the goals and objectives of the Central Library:

• To develop and enhance the capability of the library resources and services to meet the demands of the curricular,  instructional, and research programs of the academic community by providing regular funding for the yearly acquisition of library materials;

• To establish a computer infrastructure of all library operations and services by acquiring library computer software and hardware to make computerization functional;

• To strengthen the library's bond with the library patrons by establishing the "Friends of the Library" program which would assist in the development of the library collection;

• To provide services that enhance the quest for knowledge and intellectual activity;

• To create various bibliographies and library pathfinders for easy access and retrieval of information.

• To create an atmosphere wherein students and faculty may carry on the learning process enjoyable.
